Sciatic Nerve Traction Injuries in THR after Old Trauma of Neck of Femur Fracture more Than 3 Months

Aim: The purpose of this study is to measure the sciatic Nerve injuries in Total Hip Replacement after old trauma femur fracture more than 3 months. Materials and Methods. design was retrospective conducted at DHQ Teaching Hospital Gujranwala. Data collected 50 patients who underwent following NECK fracture. All Patients through surgery. Sciatic nerve traction were noted. SPSS – 16 used for statistical analysis data calculation mean SD. Mann-Whitney U test Student's t- also SD consideration with p-value (< 0.05). Results: Out patients, 5 patient developed 1 Femoral injury. these Patients, cause injury formation hematoma 2 femoral trapping due scarring. However, outcome 4 out 6 (66.66%) Good, (16.66%) had satisfactory result while one total paralysis poorer prognosis. Practical Implication: can occur as a complication hip replacement (THR) surgery, especially such neck that occurred months prior Such significant pain, weakness, other functional impairments affect patient’s quality life. Therefore, it important surgeons carefully evaluate medical history perform appropriate diagnostic tests identify risk before THR Furthermore, during should use techniques minimize injury, careful placement implants avoiding excessive on nerve.
